“Relate: Talk with me” is an interactive video installation that invites visitors to talk to a voice bot avatar. The conversation focuses on the topic of relationships. The audience is challenged to look at it from different angles. Artist and audience are together part of an experiment in which they can observe how their behavior towards human or machine differs and where the boundaries become blurred.

For “Relate: Talk with me”, artist Andrea Familari is developing a language bot represented by an avatar. With the help of the bot, Familari examines dialog as the core of relationships. He deals with the question of how our relationship with technology shapes our interpersonal relationships. As a starting point for connecting with visitors, he gives the bot a piece of his own identity: the 3D avatar that represents the bot is based on a scan of himself.
