A PREMIERE FOR THE RUHR REGION: THE FESTIVAL FOR CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS "ZEIT FÜR ZIRKUS" WILL BE PRESENTED IN FIVE DIFFERENT CITIES IN THE RUHR REGION FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR.

Circus magic in the Ruhr region

"Zeit für Zirkus" is the German version of the international festival "La Nuit du Cirque". From 17 to 19 November 2023, the nationwide festival promises a diverse program and offers its audience an unconventional insight into the young art form. For the first time this year, five different cities from the Ruhr region will be hosting the festival on their stages. Over three days and with eight event formats, the diversity of the New Circus art form will be celebrated.

The New Arts Ruhr New Circus project office is responsible for coordinating the festival in the Ruhr region. Most recently, the Ruhr region was represented with just two events as part of the nationwide festival in 2020. The fact that the number of events and venues has increased significantly this year indicates that the up-and-coming art form is experiencing an upswing in this region. A dense festival program with performances, talk formats, workshops and crossover events is intended to invite and fascinate a wide audience.
