How would you describe yourself and your work to an alien?
Maybe I would begin by explaining to the alien that people don't just work, eat, drink and sleep. I'd explain them how "relevant" art and culture are to human life. That's something that we're trying to teach some people again as well.
What is your motivation to create art?
I love to bring people together with their different abilities and cultural expressions and to create something new together with them.
What do you love most about the Ruhr region in general?
The boundlessness.

Three places in the Ruhr that you definitely show visitors:
The Ruhr Auen in Bochum-Dahlhausen, an exhibition in the Gasometer, the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum and the adjacent Westpark.
What makes the art and culture scene here so special?
The people.
At which places can you feel the metropolis of the arts here?
In the Schauspielhaus Bochum, in the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum, at the Zeltfestival, at Zeche Zollverein, in the Duisburg Meiderich Landscape Park, in the Folkwang Museum, in the new Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr ... the list can easily be extended.
Where/when did you have your best cultural experience?
At the Theater der Welt, open air on the Magarethenhöhe in Essen with the Compagnie Royal De Luxe
Where do you like to eat & drink?
Lunch at "Tucholsky", dinner at "Five" and a nightcap at "Badalona".
