Since 2020, our New Arts Ruhr funding programme has been offering artists the opportunity to bring their bold ideas to the stage and at the same time want to get more and more people excited about the various branches of the new arts. You are eligible to apply as an individual, group, initiative or company if your work is focussed on or based in the Ruhr region.

Municipal and independent cultural organisations based or cooperating with partners in the Ruhr region are also eligible to apply. If you are just starting out as an artist or cultural worker, you are expressly invited to apply and give your work visibility. You can find more details in the funding principles.

Applications for projects in 2025 can be submitted online on kultur.web between 1 April and 14 June 2025, with the implementation period starting on 1 January 2026 at the earliest. Projects will be selected by a jury of experts.
